Due to berthing and depth constraints, not all vessels will be at all tour stops. Expected vessels can change without notice.
The Lehigh Valley Railroad (LVRR) Tug Cornell served as a means to transport rail cars via barge across NY harbor from 1950 to 1971. She was the first of four tugs initially built for the LVRR all boasting the use of diesel-electric propulsion. From 1971 to 2003 Cornell worked as a ship-docking tug in Boston, MA. After a brief service as a sightseeing/training vessel in the upper Chesapeake Bay, Cornell was purchased in 2007 by Lehigh Maritime Corp. and has been restored to her former glory as a true Railroad Tug. As a part of the historic vessel community, Cornell serves as window to the past to illustrate the growth and evolution of the maritime industry in NY Harbor, offering NY Harbor and Hudson River Tours along with educational programs for public and private entities. She is currently berthed at the mouth of Rondout Creek in Kingston, NY.
